About Lic. Melisa Biondi
Melisa Biondi Vázquez (Tenzin Phurdrön), born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, is a Clinical Psychologist (Universidad Siglo 21, 2013) with a postgraduate degree in Transpersonal Psychology from the Transpersonal Center of Buenos Aires. After completing her degree with the thesis titled “The search for the transcendence of the ego and professional practice,” she embarked on a journey of exploration, work, and volunteering throughout Oceania and Asia. During this period, she received her first Buddhist teachings, which inspired her to deepen her studies.
Since 2015, she has been living in India, where she is dedicated to studying Buddhist Psychology and Philosophy, as well as the Tibetan language, within the Tibetan Buddhist Tradition.
Based in Dharamsala since 2016—home of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and a large community of Tibetan refugees—she primarily studies with her teacher, Geshe Lobsang Chögyal Rinpoche.
Melisa is currently also training as an interpreter, orally translating her teacher’s teachings from Tibetan into English and Spanish.
Interested in integrating Buddhist Psychology —«Science of the Mind»— in a secular way with Modern Psychology and Contemplative Neuroscience applied to clinical practice, she has led theoretical and experiential seminars and retreats drawing from these disciplines in Argentina (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019) and Mozambique, Africa (2017).
At the intersection of East and West, she works from this paradigm as an online psychotherapist in Spanish and English since 2017, having accompanied people from more than eighteen countries in their therapeutic process.
Melisa has completed part of the “Basic Program” training of the FPMT (Foundation for the Preservation of the Mahayana Tradition) at Kopan Monastery in Nepal (2015, 2016, 2017).
She has also undertaken retreats and courses in Buddhist Philosophy and Psychology with Mingyur Rinpoche, Lama Zopa Rinpoche, Geshe Dorji Damdul, Geshe Ma Kelsang Wangmo, Bhikshuni Thubten Chödrön, and other eminent Buddhist teachers.
She volunteered facilitating meditations and guiding Buddhist pilgrimages at Root Institute (Bodhgaya, 2015–2016).
She has completed a Mind Training Course with Geshe Thupten Jinpa (2025)
She has translated seminars from English into Spanish for Jetsunma Tenzin Palmo and has also volunteered translating Buddhist Philosophy and Psychology texts for Happy Monks Publications (2017–2022).
She completed the “Compassion Cultivation Training” of the Compassion Institute, endorsed by Stanford University (2020).
She also undertook training in “Therapeutic Presence” with Dr. Shari Geller (2022).
Melisa has been part of the Professional Team of the Transpersonal Center of Buenos Aires since 2016.
